Did you know that
  • there are over 70,000 individuals in the Waterloo Region living with a disability
  • the average cost of accomodations for a disabled employee is only $500
Employers are struggling to find qualified workers. Did you know there is a pool of highly skilled and motivated workers waiting to be hired?  They just happen to have a disability.

Making accomodations for individuals in the workforce just makes good business sense. For every $1 spent on accomodations, employers report receiving $10 in benefits.

This interactive conference will provide you with valuable information about the economic benefits of hiring and retaining persons with disabilities, dispel the myths traditionally associated with disabled employees and put resources and supports at your fingertips.

You'll have the opportunity to interact with professionals from across a variety of sectors who are either disabled or are successfully employing persons with disabilities.

We hope to generate significant forward interest and momentum through this conference to emphasize the need for better integration of these untapped workers into the workplace and to make the conference a launching point for other local initiatives aimed at increasing the pool of qualified workers in Waterloo-Wellington and beyond.
